# Section WhatsApp

Here, you connect your WhatsApp number for Utmify to track:

* **Conversations started**
* **Cost per conversation**
* **Sales generated**

This allows you to follow from the click on the ad to the conversation and the final conversion.

**❓Main questions regarding WhatsApp sales tracking on Utmify:**

User funnels that will work to track **WhatsApp** sales on **Utmify** include:

{% hint style="warning" %}

* **Advertisement → WhatsApp → Checkout**
* **Advertisement → Page with button for WhatsApp → WhatsApp → Checkout**
  {% endhint %}

***

> Before I connected my **WhatsApp** to **Utmify**, several **leads** had already contacted me. Will these sales be tracked in Utmify?

* We will only attribute sales after a user connects to **WhatsApp** via a QR code in **Utmify**—that is, for new leads who start a conversation on WhatsApp after that connection.

***

> I fill out the checkout form with the customer's information myself and/or manually send them the **checkout** link. How can I set up this process and track my sales?

* You need to enter the customer's number in the **utm\_content** parameter exactly as it appears on **WhatsApp**, for example: 5511913119010 (country code, area code, and customer number, without spaces or special characters).

***

> My funnel is 100% automated; the bot itself sends the link to the customer via WhatsApp. How can I verify that everything is set up correctly for tracking?

* For automated customer service, make sure you have configured your chatbot correctly. This includes ensuring that **UTM parameters** are being passed correctly, that the lead ID is being captured properly, and that the message flow is working as expected to ensure an effective customer service experience.

{% hint style="danger" %}
***Obs.:*** Check with your **bot’s** support team to see if it has a **variable** to automatically capture the customer’s **phone** number, such as `{phone}`. Proper functionality depends on the bot having this variable.
{% endhint %}

***

> My **WhatsApp** funnel is: **Ad → Page → WhatsApp → Checkout**
>
> How can I verify that the tracking will work?

* You need to set up the **UTM code** in your ads and the **UTM script** on the page that leads to **WhatsApp**, and verify that the "Go to WhatsApp" button on the page is configured as **an anchor tag**. Only in this format will it be possible to correctly track sales originating from **WhatsApp**.

> I work with scheduling. How can I use Utmify to track my sales?

* If you don’t send the checkout URL to your customer for them to complete the payment or booking, but instead handle the purchase or booking process on the lead’s behalf—such as in the case of **Cash on Delivery (Logzz)** or when the customer sends you the PIX payment details and you make the payment on their behalf—simply complete the process as if you were the customer. This will ensure that the sale is recorded correctly in **Utmify**.
* Generate the booking link and add the parameter needed to track the sale.

Example: <https://logzz.agendamento.com.br/e17fd9c414?utm_content=5511913119010>

In this example, the **utm\_content** parameter is set to the **LEAD** **number** (**5511913119010**), which is the customer’s phone number in the correct format (country code, area code, and number, with no spaces or special characters). This parameter ensures that the sale is tracked correctly.

### **Going through the process as if you were the customer:**

1. Click the booking link (checkout), which includes the necessary parameters to track the sale.
2. On the scheduling form, enter the requested information, such as the customer’s name, email address, phone number, and other relevant details. Make sure the LEAD number and tracking parameters are correct.
3. After filling in all the information, confirm and complete the booking by selecting the date and time of the service, based on the platform’s availability.
4. Once the appointment is scheduled, **Utmify** will track this action as an approved sale, and **Logzz** will record the appointment. If the customer does not pay or does not accept the product, the transaction will be marked as failed, and the amount will be deducted from Utmify as a canceled sale.

{% hint style="info" %}
***Obs.:*** This process also applies to other **sales platforms** that offer **cash-on-delivery** payment options.
{% endhint %}
